Tribute to Ruby Nell Crider
Born June 29, 1938
Passed Away February 13, 2019 at the age of 80
Ruby Crider’s funeral service was held on Monday, February 18 at the Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel and Cemetery.
Ruby Crider was a faithful and dedicated Emmaus member. She was an integral part of the leadership team in the Arlington/Mid-Cities Emmaus Community for many years until her health prevented her from continuing to serve. Ruby was one of the co-founders of establishing and setting up the bank account for the Arlington/Mid-Cities Emmaus Community. Ruby served in leadership positions within the AMC Emmaus Community and worked various Walks throughout the years. Before the decline of her health, Ruby was serving as the Correspondence Secretary for the Steering Committee. She faithfully wrote thank you letters to churches who hosted gatherings as well as sympathy, get well, and birthday cards to community members.
One of Ruby’s main contributions to Walks was designing a special program cover, listing the names of each pilgrim for each walk, and printing the programs for the Candlelight services for both the Men’s and Women’s Walks as well as Chrysalis Flights. For years, Ruby Crider provided programs for the Candlelight services as a
“memento” for the pilgrims, team members, and sponsors of each Walk.
Ruby always had a sweet smile and was always so encouraging and uplifting. She was a strong prayer warrior for the Walks and Emmaus Communities, and we have missed her presence greatly on our Steering Committee. Now Ruby is enjoying her very own special candlelight service in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is truly missed by her Emmaus Sisters and Brothers in Christ. Until we meet again sweet Ruby.
