We welcome Vaughn Baker as the Tarrant County Emmaus Chrysalis Community’s new Spiritual Director.  Vaughn has served Emmaus Communities both in Central Texas and Nashville for over thirty years as assistant and as weekend spiritual directors.  Vaughn was the founding spiritual director for the Dublin, Ireland Emmaus Walks 1 and 2.  He has performed in a similar capacity with other three-day ministries including Chrysalis, Alarga, Torch, and the Kairos prison ministries.  Vaughn is a certified spiritual director.

Vaughn recently retired after forty-five years of service as an elder in the Central Texas Conference.  He currently helps various Methodist churches in interim activities and works at Gateway Church in their pastoral care department.

Holding a PhD from the University of South Africa, Vaughn   supervises graduate theological studies in the Polycarp Community at Wesley House, Truett Seminary at Baylor University.  He has previously taught Course of Study at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology.
