Give to TCECC

The Gift of Giving – June 1, 2020 Greetings!

I have missed our gatherings.  I have missed the singing which we do very well with excellent music leadership.  I have missed the Fourth Day Talks given by committed Christians who share their experiences of Emmaus and what it has meant to them.  I have missed the fellowship of being together, exchanging news and hugs and laughter and often sharing tears.  I have missed the food.  I have missed YOU ALL!

And I realized as the leaders of our Fourth Day Group met to discuss the business of the community that I missed having a way of offering praise and being involved in a physical way to be a part of the ongoing work of TCECC.  I have wanted a way to show my gratitude for all that Emmaus has meant to me since the day I received my cross and heard the words, “Christ is counting on you,” and responded, “And I am counting on Christ.”  Then I heard the treasurer, Jim Cox, say that we don’t have many expenses but there are some ongoing needs even though we are not meeting, and it occurred to me that here was a way that I could participate in the ministry of Emmaus and give praise and thanks to God in a way that is personal and meaningful.

Giving, you know, is not just offering money.  It is a gift, an offering of self. It links us to each other and to the journey that brought us together.  Giving brings us into the presence of God.  It is our right and a privilege to offer our gifts to God, and we can still do that even as we wait for the opportunity to worship in each other’s presence.  We can mail our offering to the address listed below, saying a prayer of thanksgiving as we write the check and put it in an envelope.
